ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
The APTERR Secretariat, led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr. Tull Traisorat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, on 15 August 2023. This underscored the strong ties among ASEAN Plus Three countries and their commitment to fostering collaborative efforts in humanitarian assistance.
On 14 August 2023, the APTERR Secretariat embarked on a significant visit to the National Food Authority warehouse, namely NFA-ACA in Valenzuela City, for inspecting the quality of rice under Japan’s new initiative titled ‘the ‘School Distribution Programme (SDP)’ implementing in the Philippines.
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat together with his team consisting of Mr. Akinori Ando, Japanese Expert, Ms. Jansinee Kankaew, Head of Implementation, and Ms. Nattavadee Sraprathum, Technical Staff for FEMI, participated in the handover ceremonies of Japan’s 300-MT rice assistance to people affected by floods and COVID-19 in four provinces namely Prey Veng, Takeo, Pursat, and Kampong Chhnang of Cambodia during 9 – 11 August 2023.
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager (GM) of the APTERR Secretariat, led the APTERR staff members to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of Thailand to Cambodia, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 8 August 2023 during a trip to attend the ceremonial handover of APTERR rice contributed by Japan to assist flood and COVID-19 affected people in Cambodia.
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager (GM) of the APTERR Secretariat accompanied with Mr.Akinori Ando, Japanese Expert, Ms. Jansinee Kankaew, Head of Implementation Sub Division, and Ms. Sita Kumpol, Secretary to the Japanese Expert, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar on 29 June 2023 at the Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar.
