On 3 February 2026, the APTERR Secretariat has welcomed two officials, Mr. ENDO Wataru, Section Chief from Consumption Statistics Office and Ms. IDA Reina, Staff from Statistics Planning Division, both are from Statistics Department, MAFF of Japan, together with Dr. Sumanya Ngandee, AFSIS Manager, for the APTERR briefing at the APTERR Secretariat office. Both of them participated in the internship programme at the ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) Secretariat during February 2026.
In this regard, Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, has introduced them to the APTERR organisation and its activity, especially, the Tier 1 Programme between the Philippines and Japan and Tier 3 Programme in which MAFF of Japan is one of the key contributors.
Furthermore, Dr. Karnjanakesorn had also invited MAFF interns to participate in the rice inspection at the Capital Cereals Company Limited, Ayutthaya Province, to observe the stockpiled rice contributed by the People’s Republic of China (P.R. China) which will be pre-positioned in Lao PDR, prepared to be released during the time of emergency.
