ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
On 10 August 2022, Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, led Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert, along with the APTERR staff to visit the Department of Groundwater Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand for building cooperation and collaboration relating to the line of APTERR’s works.
The APTERR team led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager, together with Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert, visited the Office of the National Water Resources (ONWR) under the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand on 25 July 2022 to introduce APTERR’s activities, and build possible cooperation and collaboration with the ONWR represented as the Thai National Mekong Committee Secretariat (TNMCS), the focal point of the Mekong River Commission (MRC) in Thailand.
On 22 July 2022, Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, warmly welcomed Dr. Thanawat Tiensin, Minister of the Office of Agricultural Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Rome, Italy, to the APTERR Secretariat office for having a discussion and exchanging views on the current food security situation as well as APTERR’s roles and activities in enhancing food security in the ASEAN Plus Three region.
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, accompanied with Mr. Toshiki Tojo and the APTERR Staff had a meeting with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) led by Mrs. Jacqueline de Groot, Deputy Country Director, on 7 July 2022 at the WFP Lao office.
The APTERR Secretariat led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, welcomed Dr. Cherdsak Virapat, Director General of the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP), to attend the meeting on 20 June 2022 at the APTERR Secretariat office in Bangkok, Thailand.
