On 2 September 2026, the APTERR Secretariat led by Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager, and Mr. Aro Kasakawa, Japanese Expert, had a great opportunity to visit Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Thailand to have a meeting with H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs and representatives from concerned departments on APTERR activities. The AFSIS Secretariat Manager, Dr. Sumanya Ngandee, also attended.
As Thailand will assume the ASEAN chairmanship in 2028 and both APTERR and AFSIS officially have Secretariat office in Thailand, the main focuses of the meeting were the APTERR and AFSIS operations. All parties actively shared sights and experiences on both organisation’s activity and challenges with fruitful outcomes.
