The APTERR Secretariat attended the virtual Special Senior Officials Meeting of the twenty-fifth Meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three (Special SOM-25th AMAF Plus Three) on 19 August 2026 to report the progress on APTERR operations.
Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, highlighted key achievements and ongoing implementation of APTERR activities during 2025-2026. The Meeting acknowledged APTERR’s significant operational milestones in advancing food security and expressed appreciation to its member countries for their continued support and cooperation on APTERR activities.
Amid growing global challenges, the Meeting encouraged the full utilisation of the APTERR mechanism to strengthen food security and resilience. It also supported the APTERR Secretariat’s continued collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and other relevant partners to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability of APTERR operations, while boosting its capacity for emergency preparedness and timely response.
