On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, the APTERR Secretariat was invited to attend the virtual meeting of the Special Senior Officials Meeting of the twenty-fourth meeting of the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry Plus Three (Special SOM-24th AMAF Plus Three) to report the progress of the APTERR operations.
In this regard, Dr. Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager of the APTERR Secretariat, has presented the implementations and accomplishments of APTERR activities during 2024-2025 to the meeting. The meeting acknowledged the key achievements of the APTERR operations including the advancement of Tier 1 programme, the remarkable implementations of Tier 3 programmes, the useful outcomes of the Food Emergency Monitoring and Information (FEMI) along with the cooperation between APTERR Secretariat. The meeting expressed sincere appreciation to the donor and recipient countries for their voluntary contribution and cooperation in the APTERR programmes to strengthen the food security in the ASEAN Plus Three (APT) region.
Furthermore, Dr. Karnjanakesorn has updated the meeting on the successful and ongoing collaboration between APTERR Secretariat and other related organisations, such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and United Nations World Food Programme, in order to improve APTERR operations to enhance food security and nutrition for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
