On 25 February 2025, Ms. Nattavadee Sraprathum, Technical Staff for Food Emergency Monitoring and Information (FEMI), as a representative from the APTERR Secretariat, participated in the ‘Nutrition and Supply Chain Workshop’ hosted by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre, Thailand.
Ms. Sraprathum highlighted the crucial roles of APTERR in strengthening food security through its Tier 1,2, and 3 mechanisms, together with the FEMI. She also provided updates on APTERR’s collaboration with WFP in advancing the rice fortification project to support the emergency rice assistance under APTERR.
The workshop recognised APTERR’s vital roles in emergency response, particularly in time of crises. Also, it could be a platform to enhance nutritional quality of rice assistance for people affected by calamities. The APTERR Secretariat, therefore, will continue working closely with WFP to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reduce micronutrient deficiencies in the ASEAN Plus Three region.
