ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve
The APTERR Secretariat hosted the 3rd meeting on an experimental Tier 1 implementation between the Philippines and Japan at the office of the ATERR Secretariat in Bangkok, Thailand on 24 August 2018.
The 2nd meeting on an experimental Tier 1 implementation between the Philippines and Japan was held on 5 July 2018 in Tokyo, Japan with the aims of paving the way for realising the Tier 1 implementation in the near future.
The meeting on an experimental Tier 1 implementation between the Philippines and Japan was held on 10 May 2018 at the National Food Authority (NFA) headquarter in Quezon City, the Philippines. NFA Administrator, Lt. Col. Jason L.Y. Aquino (Ret) PA, presided the meeting with the attendance of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan led by Director of Grain Trade and Operation, Mr. Tetsuo Ushikusa, and the APTERR Secretariat led by General Manager, Mr. Chanpithya Shimphalee.
The 6th Meeting of ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Council was held on 13 – 14 March 2018 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The Meeting was organised by the APTERR Secretariat and hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), Lao PDR. The Meeting was attended by member countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Food Security Reserve Board Secretariat and APTERR staff members. H.E. Thongphath Vongmany, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Lao PDR presided over this meeting.
The Policy Workshop on Food Security and Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia was held from 16 to 18 January 2018 at the AETAS Bangkok Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. This event was organised under the partnership of the Asian Development Bank Institute, ASEAN Food Security Information System (AFSIS) and the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) Secretariat for analysing regional cooperation for food security including the role of international organisations in overcoming food emergency and protecting food supply chain during socio-economic crises.
