The APTERR Secretariat led by Dr.Choomjet Karnjanakesorn, General Manager and Mr. Toshiki Tojo, Japanese Expert visited the National Disaster Warning Centre (NDWC) under the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior of Thailand on 10 June 2022.
Acm. Somneuk Swatteuk, Senior Advisor and Mr. Trus Poonwong, Foreign Relations Officer, Senior Professional Level of the NDWC were the lecturers on the works and responsibilities under the NDWC. They also brought the APTERR team to the master control room of the NDWC to see and understand more about Thailand’s existing early warning system. Besides, the APTERR team took this opportunity to exchange their viewpoints with the lecturers in improving the APTERR food emergency monitoring and information and strengthening collaboration in the future.
The NDWC is a primary governmental agency responsible for providing information regarding disaster warnings and has the lead responsibility for issuing alerts in Thailand.
